Footless Electric Motors (Rigid Base Industrial Motors)
Footless electric motors — also known as rigid base or footless mount motors — are designed for compact or OEM applications where the motor is secured directly to the driven equipment rather than mounted to a baseplate.
This design offers a smaller footprint, lower weight, and improved flexibility for gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, and integrated process machinery.
Available in ODP, TEFC, and Explosion-Proof (TEXP) enclosures, these motors are built to NEMA Premium® efficiency standards and are fully compatible with VFD control systems.
What Is a Footless Mount Motor?
A footless (rigid base) motor eliminates the traditional bolt-on base used in foot-mounted configurations.
Instead, it mounts directly to the equipment frame, adapter, or custom plate — ideal for OEM systems, compact assemblies, or machinery with integrated mounting hardware.
✅ Key Advantages
Compact design saves space in equipment layouts
Reduced weight and simplified alignment
Ideal for OEM and skid-mounted systems
Compatible with C-Face and D-Flange configurations
Rigid frame construction minimizes vibration
NEMA / IEC dimensional interchangeability
