IEEE 841

Features:

  2. Enclosure: These motors are TEFC (totally enclosed fan-cooled) and have an IP56 enclosure, protecting the motor from environmental contaminants.

  3. Materials: IEEE841 Motors are constructed out of materials that are resistant to corrosion and can withstand exposure to hazardous substances – hence why they are suitable to use in chemical/petrochemical plants.

  4. Bearings: These motors usually have sleeve bearings, which are more robust and can handle more mechanical stress.

  5. Cooling: Come equipped with a separate cooling fan to maintain a lower and more appropriate operating temperature, this enhances their reliability.

  6. Vibration: IEEE841 motors have lower vibration levels, this prevents damage to the connected machinery and thus adds to their longevity.

IEEE 841 motors are designed and constructed to meet the stringent requirements of the petrochemical and refining industries. Because they are known for their high efficiency, robust construction, and reliability, they are also suitable for use in challenging environments where motor performance is critical to industrial processes. Aggregate operations are an example of where these motors are commonly used, but not required.
